Rook & Tile sells chess, mahjong, backgammon, dominoes, cards and the things that sit around them, for people who host game nights at home.
Too many sets, too little said
Search for a chess set or a mahjong set and you get hundreds of near identical listings. Some leave out the square size, the tile count or what is actually in the case.
We started Rook & Tile to do the sorting for you: fewer sets, each one described plainly enough that you know what will arrive.
A set you have to hide is a set you will not play.
How we choose a set
We look for sets that look right left out on a table: boards in proportion, tiles you can read, cases that close.
Then we write the listing around the facts that matter for each game. The style a mahjong set suits. The size of a chess square. What comes in the case, and what does not.
Standing behind every order
Our sets ship from fulfillment partners abroad, so delivery takes 8 to 16 days. We say so up front.
If something is not right, unused items come back within 30 days, and every question is answered by email by the people who chose the set.
