Orders and shipping

How long does delivery take?
Delivery takes 8 to 16 days to US addresses. Orders are fulfilled by our supplier partners rather than a local store, which is why we state the full window up front, before you order.
Is shipping free?
Shipping is free on US orders over $79. Below that amount, the shipping cost is shown at checkout before you pay, so there are no surprises after the order is placed.
Will I get an order confirmation?
Yes, a confirmation email is sent once your order is placed. Keep it, since the order number in that email is what we ask for if you contact us about the order.
My order has not arrived. What now?
Email us if your order has not arrived 16 days after you placed it. Include your order number and we will check on it with our supplier partner and reply with what we find.

Returns

What is your return policy?
Unused items can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Email us first with your order number and the item you want to return, and we will reply with the return steps.
Can I return a kit I have started?
No, a started kit or worked yarn cannot be returned. Unused items in their original condition can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Email us first and we will send the steps.
What if an item arrives damaged or incomplete?
Email us with your order number and a photo of the problem. We will look at it and reply with the options. Please write before throwing away any packaging, since it can help.

Kits and skill level

Which craft is easiest to start?
Embroidery is often the gentlest start, then crochet, then knitting. Embroidery needs no tension control, crochet keeps only one loop live, and knitting holds a full row on two needles. Our guide compares them in detail.
What comes in a kit?
Each listing states exactly what that kit includes. Contents vary from kit to kit, so check the list on the product page for yarn or thread, tools and the pattern, and anything you may want to add.
I have not crocheted in years. Where do I begin?
Begin with a small kit and a simple stitch you remember. Hands relearn quickly, and a small project rebuilds confidence faster than a big one. Our guides cover the basics if you want a refresher.
Do kits make good gifts?
Kits make a good gift for someone who has mentioned wanting to learn. Choose a small project in a craft they have named, and allow 8 to 16 days for delivery to a US address.

Yarn and tools

What yarn should a beginner use?
A smooth, light-colored, medium weight yarn is the easiest to learn on. Stitches stay visible and the yarn does not split easily. Fuzzy, very dark or novelty yarns hide stitches and are better saved for later.
What hook or needle size should I buy?
Use the size printed on your yarn label as the starting point. Go up a size if your work feels tight, down a size if it looks loose. Our guide lists common sizes for each yarn weight.
Why should I buy all the yarn at once?
Buying all the yarn at once keeps the color even. Separate dye batches of the same shade can differ slightly, and that difference shows once the yarn sits side by side in a finished piece.
