About Backyard Wren
A field kit, plainly labeled.
Backyard Wren sells feeders, baths, bird houses, poles and hooks to people who want to watch the birds in their own yard. Here is why the store exists and how it works.
Why this store exists
Search for a bird feeder and you get a wall of near-identical listings, each with a different name and the same blurry photos. It is hard to tell which one holds up, which one comes apart for cleaning, and which one fits a small balcony.
Backyard Wren exists to do that sorting. We keep a short shelf of feeders, baths and houses, and describe each one plainly: what it is, how it mounts, how it cleans.
Most of birdwatching is sitting still and looking. The gear should make that easier, not louder.
How we choose
We look for the plain virtues: a roof that sheds rain, drainage that works, parts that come apart for washing, sizes that suit a real yard or window. We leave out novelty shapes that are hard to clean.
We do not sell seed. It cannot ship from overseas, and a local garden store sells it fresher than we ever could. We say so on every page where it matters.
What we stand behind
Orders ship from partner warehouses overseas and arrive in 8 to 16 days. We say that up front so nobody is waiting on a promise we cannot keep. Shipping is free on US orders over $79.
If an item is unused and not right, you have 30 days to return it. Questions about setup, placement or an order go to one email address, and we answer them.
What we keep to
Watch first
Start small, see who visits, then add. We would rather sell you one good feeder than five.
Easy to clean
A feeder you can take apart gets washed. One you cannot, does not. We choose with that in mind.
Plain answers
If we do not know something about an item, we say so instead of guessing.
Standing behind it
Thirty days to return unused items, and a real reply to every email.
One feeder, one bath.
The simplest station covers food and water. Begin there and let the yard tell you what comes next.
