How a burr grinder works
Two burrs, one fixed and one turning, crush the beans to a size set by the gap between them. A smaller gap gives finer grounds. Burrs give more even particles than blades, and even particles extract more evenly in the cup.
Choosing a setting
Start coarse for French press and cold brew, medium fine for pour over and fine for espresso. Brew, taste, then move one step at a time. Sour and thin means grind finer. Bitter and dry means grind coarser.
Care
Brush out the burrs and chamber every week or two and keep the grinder dry. Do not wash the burrs with water unless the listing says they come out for rinsing. Grind a few beans after cleaning to clear any loose dust.
