How it works
A stone or steel stores heat and passes it straight into the dough, which gives a crisper base than a thin tray. It needs a long preheat to work, so put it in before you turn the heat on.
How to use it
Place it in a cold oven or grill and heat it up together, then launch the pizza with a floured peel. Let it cool in place after cooking, since sudden temperature changes can crack a stone.
Care
Scrape off burnt bits once it has cooled. Keep soap off a stone, as it soaks into the surface. A steel should be dried fully and lightly oiled. Stains on a stone are normal and do not affect baking.
When will my order arrive?
Orders arrive in 8 to 16 days to US addresses. You get a confirmation email as soon as the order is placed. If your order has not arrived after 16 days, email us with your order number and we will check on it for you.
What if it does not fit my grill or oven?
Unused items can be returned within 30 days. To avoid that, measure your griddle, grill or oven opening first and compare it with the size on the product page. If a size is missing, email us before you order.
How do I clean this tool?
Clean it once cool, then dry it fully before storing. The care section on this page gives the method for this type of tool, and any care note from the product page applies on top of it. When in doubt, skip the dishwasher.
Is shipping free on this item?
Shipping is free when your US order totals over $79. Below that amount, the shipping cost is shown at checkout before you pay. Adding a second tool from the same cook surface is often enough to reach free shipping.
